One day I decided that the only way I was going to go to the gym was to hire a personal trainer. My job leaves me very inactive throughout the day, i.e. sitting in front of a computer for hours on end, day in and day out. Through all the years that I procrastinated in not moving my body I started developing atrophy in my muscles (lack of strength), heart (a-fib) and mind (intellectually lazy)! The only thing I had going for me was that my life style consists of eating reasonably healthy. In the past I had hired a couple of personal trainers but had become disillusioned with them as I felt that I was pouring money down the drain. Out of desperation I wanted to try one last option since besides health issues I needed to lose weight.
When I was first introduced to Chris he seemed friendly and genuine and assured me that he could help me lose the weight that I wanted. By the time my first session was over I knew much more about Chris – that he is not just a personal trainer running you through a set of exercises. He understands how the body works and the nutritional needs for you to meet your own fitness/weight loss goals. He has great knowledge of body mechanics, muscle function and is capable of determining the individual abilities of his clients. His pleasant and positive attitude is a great asset to his willingness to work with his clients at their own levels. He instills confidence and encouragement to make you want to work further and apply yourself more diligently. There have been times when I’ve come into the gym so tired that I haven’t felt like I could go through with the exercises – however 5 minutes into the session Chris’s positive energy and his passion for what he does inspires me to start believing in myself again!
This is why working with Chris has improved my upper and lower body strength; seldom do I experience the a-fib that I had when I first came to Chris and because his exercise sessions are motivational and enjoyable I feel sharper and more confident with myself.
Chris is a dedicated personal trainer with tremendous versatility, intelligence and discipline….and he is a lot of fun too! He can adjust his exercise programs to any age group -- including my own at 71. I can recommend Chris highly as a personal trainer to anyone interested in increasing his or her physical and mental conditioning.

When I first met Chris, I was leading a sedentary lifestyle due to my busy lifestyle and age. I expressed that I was not looking for a quick fix and that I was more interested in becoming educated through experience. We discussed goals and determined that my interests were not necessarily weight loss of body building. I had been feeling a tingling sensation in my feet and lower legs, so my immediate goal was to eliminate these diabetes-like symptoms. Secondly, and more importantly, to establish good, sustainable exercise habits and a focus on nutrition.
Chris routinely asks questions, seeking an understanding in my mental state and behavior. He makes notes of the physical responses that my body provide to various exercises. He tailors each training session to meet me where I am "in the moment". He was very methodical in strengthening my core and has continually provided me with advise and reasoning behind each exsrcise. He frequently shares the importance and benefits of stretching and mobility.
In just a few, short months of working with Chris, the tingling in my feet and legs are now gone, and I feel strong. Before, I generally felt weak and looked fat. I have learning many things related to "proper form" that I would not have figured out on my own and thus, I am on the road to good, sustainable eating habits. I could not be happier with my results.

Looking back to when I started this journey, I wouldn't have thought that I would be here today w/ my initial goals met and w/ current goals I would have never imagined myself making. I was definitely in for a treat when I decided to train with Chris Wells. Not only did he help me gain the confidence to lift the big boy weights, but he taught me how to treat my body right. He taught me that living a fit life doesn't only involve working out, but it also involves feeding your body correctly, surrounding yourself w/ supportive people, and just overall being the best version of you.
I was able to enjoy my training sessions every single time. Chris' positive attitude and energy is dynamic, and he motivated me to keep pushing myself, even on bad days. I couldn't be any happier w/ the decision I made to start training with Chris.
Today, I have an on-going goal to become physically and mentally stronger every single day. I am living a healthier lifestyle by being cautious of what I feed my body, going to the gym at least five times a week, and by surrounding myself with people that support my goals. I am so much happy to look back at all the progress I made and the progress I will make. I know I wouldn't have made it to this point without Chris.
